Wildewood

As cities go, Columbia is well insulated from economic turmoil, given the huge Fort Jackson, host to 10,000 military and families and thousands more civilian workers, and the sprawling University of South Carolina campus, home to more than 33,000 students.  Both add vitality to the area as well, something that WildeWood, just off I-20 northeast of the city, has benefitted from since its debut in the late 1960s.  Wildewood club members have full access to sister club Woodcreek Farms, just a few minutes away, as well as proximity to all manner of services and conveniences, including an array of entertainment options and excellent restaurants in the lively downtown.  Today, WildeWood itself is adjacent to Sesquicentennial State Park, which features approximately 1,500 acres. Together, the contiguous 3,100 acres that comprise the park and Wildewood offer protection from encroaching city life and create a haven for the more than 1,100 homes along WildeWood’s rolling landscape and golf course.
