Haig Point (Daufuskie Island)

“Unique” is overused in advertising, but not in the case of Haig Point, a most unusual golf community. Reached by ferry only, its air pollution comes only from the occasional golfer shouting an oath after scuffing a shot into the adjacent marsh. Perhaps he looked up to catch a glimpse of a boat floating on the Calibogue Sound or made an ill-advised adjustment to avoid play around one of the many beautiful live oaks that line Haig's golf courses. Most likely, he relaxed just a little too much knowing he is a lot closer to paradise than his friends on the mainland.
