If only Tom Watson had landed his approach shot on #18 today five yards shorter. If only a rush of adrenalin had not guided that swing. If only his putt from just outside the fringe had been four feet less aggressive...and he hadn't totally choked his putt to win. If only Stewart Cink had not sunk a 12 foot putt on the 72nd hole. If only a card-carrying baby boomer had won a major tournament. It was a terrific Open Championship and splendid performance by the 59-year old Watson. If only golf tournaments were 71 holes. If only.
